Referrals can be made in person, by letter or by telephone. The Association operates an open referral system i.e. referrals can be made through:
- Statutory Agencies
- Voluntary Organisations
- Relatives and Friends
- Self Referrals
Referrals must be made with the referred person’s full awareness and consent. If however, a person is unsure whether he/she wishes to be involved with the Association, a staff member from EDAMH will discuss the services of the Association in further detail to enable him/her to make an informed decision regarding a possible referral. In addition to referrals, the Association welcomes any enquiries about its service, other mental health services and other mental health matters.
EDAMH will encourage the referral of participants from the local authority, primary care mental health team and voluntary organisations and from the individuals themselves.
