Role

EDAMH offers a range of services that are shaped by the lived experiences of people affected by mental health. Our support follows a holistic approach with the aim to empower our service users to enjoy the best lives that they can.

The post will be based in Kirkintilloch and cover work throughout East Dunbartonshire. Access to your own transport and a full driving licence is essential.

Who are we looking for?

Are you a compassionate person looking for a meaningful career? We are looking to recruit Mental Health Support Workers who are enthusiastic and motivated, with relevant experience of work in health and social care in the community. You will have a qualification of SVQ3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or minimum of SVQ2 and a preparedness to work towards SVQ3. You will also have an awareness of and a commitment to promoting the use of self- management techniques. You will also be able to demonstrate skills in report writing, assessing clients’ needs and developing professional support plans.

You will work to deliver person centred and recovery focused support to enable vulnerable adults experiencing mental ill health, to achieve positive outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate a caring attitude with excellent listening and communication skills. You will be able to develop a positive rapport with people, assist them to recognise and develop their individual strengths and skills so as to promote their sense of wellbeing and give them greater hope for the future.
