Perinatal Mental Health support – East Dunbartonshire. Contact your Health Visitor or GP for more information. Support for mums/carers and family members who may be feeling mild/moderate stress or anxiety following the birth of their baby ( up to 1 year). The programme is run on a weekly basis either in a group or a one-to-one. This programme helps to support those who need support by using a self-management approach, women will remain in control of their recovery journey by utilising strategies and techniques taught by facilitators during the programme. 

CrossReach Bluebell Perinatal Service 0141 221 3003.  A service providing perinatal counselling and therapy for parents across East Dunbartonshire.  This service welcomes anyone expecting a baby or, living with a child under 2 who may be facing challenges, and who may be struggling to cope.

East Dunbartonshire Association for Mental Health (EDAMH) 0141 955 3040 provides a range of support to people 18+ years with mild to moderate mental health difficulties including telephone, 1-1 and group support. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Combat Stress 0800 138 1619 provides a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems in-person, and via phone and online.

Richmond Fellowship  0141 777 7471  Connections Service- provides short-term support to people 16-65 years who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing common mental health issues such as depression, stress and anxiety. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Independent Advocacy

LGBTQI+

LGBT Helpline Scotland 0300 123 2523 Open Tuesday & Wednesday between 12-9pm, and Thursday & Sunday between 1-6pm. Provide information and emotional support to the entire diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community across Scotland, including queer, intersex, asexual people and all identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. This includes the families, friends and supporters of LGBT people, and health and social care professionals working with LGBT people.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse

EDADRS – East Dunbartonshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service 0141 232 8211 Offers person-centred, recovery-focused care assessment, support and treatment for alcohol and drug issues. 

We are with you – Families Plus Service  07760 755735 Families Plus in East Dunbartonshire work with families of children under 11 who are affected by their parents’ drinking or drug use. Our experienced project workers work with the whole family to improve their health and wellbeing.

East Dunbartonshire Family Support Service Offer support to anyone in East Dunbartonshire over the age of 16 who is affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use. This could be a direct family member, friend or colleague who is using substances.

GRACE (Group Recovery Aftercare Community Enterprise) 07401797876 Local peer lead membership organisation and local charity serving the whole of East Dunbartonshire. GRACE provides recovery after-care for people who have experienced life traumas such as bereavement, ill health, loneliness and isolation, mental health issues and homelessness problems and also those who are settled in recovery from addiction to alcohol, drugs or gambling. Recovery Life Café-Baptist Church – Recovery Café 0141 578 6006 Monthly event held in the Kirkintilloch Baptist Church hall on the first Saturday every month for 5pm till 8pm, where people in recovery and their families can share a meal and entertainment in a safe alcohol and substance free environment.
